Parents as partners / volunteers

Collaboration is a dynamic process in which individuals come together and share their knowledge, experiences, resources & strength to promote growth and development of young learners. Parents act as Partners in the learning process.

We believe that the home and the school, working in unison, form a solid base for each child as he/she prepares to meet life’s challenges. We encourage parents to be part of this process by helping out with school activities. By making these efforts, they will set an example for their child through the importance they place on his/her education. Volunteer activities may include helping facilitators in any event, helping with class parties, assisting with special class projects, helping to keep our facilities tidy and safe and other various activities.

When parents and teachers join hands together every child blooms into a beautiful flower.

Keeping this in mind, we follow the blueprint of 3C’s : Communication – frequent two way communication is important to stay apprised of what is happening at home as well as school; Consistency – in creating routines and providing opportunities to enhance and support the child’s learning; Collaboration- that involves planning & problem-solving with parents developing specific & positive strategies to help the kindergarteners achieve their highest potential. Teachers communicate clear and detailed information to parents/guardians about their child’s achievement, areas for growth and suggestions for supporting their child’s learning at home. Our regular Sharing and Growing sessions (Workshops) not only orient and update our parents with the classroom practices but also bridge the gap between school and home along with the useful tips and strategies to help the child at home.

Thus, the children thrive when they have secured and positive relationships with adults who are knowledgeable about how to support their development and learning.

On-going parent-teacher relationship is one of the main feature that sets “Joeys” apart from other pre-schools.
