Virtual Culminations

Bringing down the curtains Wrap up of the Historical Year 2020-21
Virtual Culminations

" Great is the art of beginning but greater is the art of ending "

Joeys Ambli Campus - staff, parents and children boarded the flight 2020-21 in the month of June, 2020 with a positive attitude, determination and deep intent to make it work !!! Though it was a turbulent ride, we held on with resilience and perseverance and finally reached our destination - successfully, rewarding completion of the historical year 2020-21. 'Culminations' is an exceptionally memorable day for students as they act as The Person of the house and host their parents. It is an opportunity to exhibit students‟ talent, remove their stage fear, boost up confidence and teach them teamwork.

This year's 'Culminations' was not the one which we celebrate every year. In fact, it was the most unforgettable but a special one for each one of us as it was for the first time in history that children could not attend physical school. Not even once did we get a chance to meet each other in person but the bond we created with each other was unmatched. We could feel the vibes and warmth which was mutual amongst all of us. Usually as facilitator we see the graph of a child, but this year we could feel their growth as an individual.

"Desire is the starting point of all achievements, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything." With this thought in mind we planned to celebrate the year end, to showcase their increasing confidence and the mastered academic skills through the virtual culminations. It was a carnival of presentation skills and experience sharing imbibed with every child‟s clear understanding. 'Culminations' not just enhances and discovers the skills of the children, but also creates a strong bond between their classmates. It is also a way for children to share / demonstrate the skills that they have acquired. One of the goals for 'Culminations' is to guide children through creating learning experiences that will help them get the most out of group work, engaging presentations, or interactive experiences in the classroom.

It included 4 C's- Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Creativity and Communication. "Virtual Culminations" instilled an immense sense of possibility in them, which created wonders to their self-confidence. The event unfolded with the lighting of the lamp and chanting of the shloka "Shubham Karoti Kalyanam…." The programme was an amalgamation of various hues befitting Bringing down the curtainsWrap up of the Historical Year 2020-21 Virtual Culminations the theme wondrously. The props and costumes added colour to the festive occasion along with synchronized dance movements to foot tapping music. A fashion show in Pre-K – 'Fashionista', added glamour and galore, as enthusiastic children walked the ramp with grace and poise. Similarly in K 1, Spin the wheel activities and role reversal proved to be a show stopper. Our K2 children took complete charge, right from the role of host to the vote of thanks, they did it all with élan.

Hope and belief is what children need from adults and lo behold you open up a treasure box within them. All the children participated with full zeal and zest.

We could witness immense potential hidden in these young ones and there was a sense of pride amongst all nurturers to see them independently playing their roles one by one as hosts, quiz master, enquirers, coders and decoders. They also danced to the tunes of happy songs. From choreography to practices to the D-day; the whole process was overwhelming. Though we did not have the stage or the amphitheater, we had the virtual connect which boosted the confidence of our children. It gave us the thought of utilizing the virtual control known as spotlight as our stage to showcase the talent of our little people.

Kindergarten graduation celebration has a special significance as the tiny tots complete their term as kindergarteners and venture into the primary section. How could we let such a big day go a-miss and so the ceremony was hosted by the respective class teachers congratulating students for their accomplishments. A touching video of sweet memories of the entire year's journey was shared during the event

And at last it was time to wish them Sayonara. The captain of the ship along with the crew bid an affectionate farewell to all our passengers of the year 2020-21. The kindergarten anchor was finally lifted to let them sail off to the new horizon. The event was a huge hit and was well appreciated by all our proud parents. They were happy to share their feedbacks with us. It was an astounding visual treat that enthralled every spectator present.

As rightly said every flight has to land at its destination and every curtain needs to be closed after the play is over, we bid goodbye to this virtual year with this thought "The footprints of every child who embark on the goodness of the vision of the school may instill in the heart and soul, fabulous experiences with unforgettable memories."
